"En cette fin d'après-midi du 25 novembre 1959, il pleut sur Paris, une petite pluie glacée.
Presque en même temps, la lumière s'est faite dans toutes les salles de cinéma de la capitale.
Une voix s'élève au micro, une voix anonyme qui fige l'émotion :
"Gérard Philipe est mort ce matin à son domicile parisien, rue de Tournon. Il avait trente-sept ans."
Un silence de plomb, stupéfaction et émotion mêlées.
Et puis, parce que c'est la loi du spectacle, la projection du film reprend."
